Andrew Housholder Remembered

Andrew Housholder, a preeminent choral conductor and a mentor to a generation of Usdanites, has passed away following an extended illness. Andy was the conductor of Usdan's Senior Chorus during the early years of the Center. He was an inspiration to his students, both in the studio and on stage, and his artistry on the podium created magnificent performances that are treasured by those who were participants, as well as by those fortunate to have been in Andy's audiences. He was beloved not only by Usdan students, but by generations of those in the Northport and Huntington schools. Following his retirement from Huntington High School, Andy moved to Bowling Green, Ohio, the site of his university alma mater. He was active in the musical life of Bowling Green, and was a fund raiser for numerous causes for which he applied his talents in music, and those in cooking and baking as well. Andy's dynamic musicianship, and his generous heart, shall be missed by thousands of Usdanites. We welcome reminiscences and comments from all.
