Angela and Scott Jaggar will again provide Usdan opportunities for 2012 students from the Hempstead schools. These wonderful Usdan friends were introduced to the Center by Amy Hagedorn, a member of Usdan's Leadership Council. Dr. Angela Jaggar is an educator, having been an elementary school teacher before entering the field of higher education. As an NYU professor and researcher in the field of children's language and literacy development, Angela co-founded the University's Reading Recovery Project, and was the Project's co-director for ten years. Scott worked for United Parcel Service for over 30 years. Before retiring he was the company's national data processing manager. Angela and Scott have been sustainers of many Long Island charities. Angela serves on the boards of Adelphi University, her alma mater, and Landmark on Main Street, a theater and community center in Port Washington. Angela was recently recognized as a NYU Steinhardt School Distinguished Alumna. Usdan's Board, Faculty, and Staff are proud to have Angela and Scott as treasured members of the Center's extended family.
