| DEPARTMENTS: There are six departments at the Usdan Center: Art, Dance, Music, Theater Arts, Language Arts, and Chess. Applicants apply for one of these Departments. All students participate in the ASSEMBLY and SWIMMING programs by attending a performance in the Center's Amphitheater each day and having one period of swimming daily. |

| USDAN'S MAJOR and MINOR INTEREST ACTIVITIES: After choosing a Department, you select a MAJOR Interest Activity. Your MAJOR subject is the one in which you have the greatest interest and desire to participate. Two periods daily are devoted to it. Examples: a violinist would choose Orchestra; a dancer, ballet; an art student, painting, etc.
After making this choice, you then choose a MINOR Interest Activity. This MINOR is assigned one period daily and is provided to give you an opportunity to enjoy an experience in another art form or in recreation. We ask for three choices, but reserve the right, when necessary, to assign this activity. Please choose carefully for we may have to use your third choice.
Choose your MAJOR and MINOR activities with care, because it will be difficult, if not impossible, to make changes in the assigned programs. After the opening of the season, schedule changes, when possible, will be made upon the recommendation of the faculty. |
