Usdan hosts The Academy
Usdan was pleased to host The Academy for two days this past September for their fall orientation workshops. For two days, members of The Academy, a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute, in partnership with the New York City Department of Education, worked with Academy staff to prepare for their year teaching and performing throughout the New York City area.
The Academy is a competitive two-year fellowship program designed to prepare the world’s finest young professional musicians for careers that combine musical excellence with teaching, community outreach, advocacy and leadership. Academy musicians, including Usdan bassoon teacher Seth Baer, performed on this past summer’s Festival Concerts in a thrilling program of music for oboe, bassoon and piano.
If you are interested in seeing one of The Academy’s concerts, which take place at Carnegie Hall and other venues in New York City, please visit the Academy’s website.
Upcoming concerts take place on January 13, January 22, and February 10, 2012.
