Bethpage Federal Credit Union Sponsors Student Musicians

Five students have scholarships this summer thanks to a grant from Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Each of the five has been "adopted" by a Bethpage branch manager and will represent his or her local branch as a member of one of Usdan's bands, choruses, or orchestras. Speaking about the third season of the collaboration, Executive Director Dale Lewis said: “We are proud to partner with Bethpage Federal Credit Union, one of our region’s preeminent leaders in community service and corporate philanthropy. We are grateful to Kirk Kordeleski, President and CEO, and his staff for their generous support of five of Long Island’s top student musicians.” This year's class of Usdan/Bethpage Federal scholars were introduced to their Bethpage branch sponsors at a June 12th reception at Usdan. The students and their sponsoring branches are: Jordan Williams a Junior at Elwood John Glenn High School. Jordan's scholarship is sponsored by Bethpage's Huntington branch, and he will study Trumpet and Chorus.Band IV. Cara Jacobson is being sponsored by the Credit Union's Melville branch. Cara us a Junior at Half Hollow Hills East High School and she will perform with the Senior Chorus and the Select Chamber Choir. Abraham Pierre is an Eight Grade student at Robert Moses Middle School. He is being sponsored by the North Babylon branch, and will study Tenor Saxophone and will perform in one of the Jazz Ensemblez. Joseph Tanay-Noto is being sponsored by the Commack branch. He is a Junior at Commack High School and is a cellist. Joseph will perform with Orchestra IV and the Senior Chorus. Jordi Ariel Lotito is a violinist, and a Senior at WT Clarke High School. Jordi will be sponsored by the Levittown branch, and she will perform with Orchestra IV and the Senior Chorus. Full story
